Young Rainbows

Are you under 19 and sexually attracted to people of the same sex?

Do you have an awkward question about sex and relationships you would love to know, but find it difficult to ask? No matter whether you’re in a long term relationship or enjoying a casual sex life, then you might be interested in this!

You could be lesbian, gay, bisexual or even straight – everyone is entitled to learn about sex, relationships and sexual health, to keep you safe and free from harm in a confidential environment.

Young Rainbows is a sexual health project

For young lesbian, gay and bisexual people in and around Dorset, which could help you. Whatever you may already know, feel or think about sex, relationships and sexual health, Young Rainbows is not here to tell you what to do nor tell you that you need to change the way you live. It is here to support and educate you in a balanced way through sexual health guides, peer led group sessions and individual peer support.

Young Rainbows was set up by Michael Fanner, after winning funding from Terrence Higgins Trust back in March 2008. Michael, who leads the project, is a young gay guy who is training in sex, relationships and sexual health.

Young Rainbows has fantastic support from the Sexual Health Nurses at Over the Rainbow, who we can refer young people on to if needed.

If you want to talk to a trained young person about anything lesbian, gay and bisexual, relationships and sexual health then get in touch!

We can meet in person, call you (even on your mobile phone) or even talk over email!

The Sexy Stuff – Sexual Health Guide

Embarrassed or unsure about talking about sex, relationships and sexual health with other people? No problem! Young Rainbows has produced a pocket-size sexual health guide just for guys who like guys, and a guide for girls who like girls.

‘The Sexy Stuff’ talks about pretty much all of the sex, relationships and sexual health issues, you as a young person might face but doesn’t tell you what to do.
